Spencer Mizen
Spencer is senior production editor of BBC History Magazine. Over the past 16 years working on the magazine, he’s sub-edited articles on (almost!) every conceivable historical topic, as well as written features on everything from Emperor Hadrian to the 20th-century obsession with science fiction. Part of Spencer’s role as production editor is to ensure that each issue of BBC History Magazine remains on schedule – a role he fulfils in rising degrees of urgency as deadline approaches! When he’s not gently reminding authors that their work was due yesterday, he likes to contribute to the HistoryExtra podcast, enjoying recording interviews on topics including the Wild West, the French Revolution and above all – as a keen fan of the Bristol Bears rugby team and Gloucestershire County Cricket Club – the history of sport.
